Indigenous Data Sovereignty

We recognise the inherent rights of Indigenous peoples to govern the collection and use of data about Indigenous people, communities, lands and languages.

We welcome Indigenous scholars to the LHE archive and offer the database as a tool that allows archival material to be reclassified in ways that are contextualised and meaningful to First Nations peoples.

If you have suggestions as to how we could improve the database to better reflect IDS principles, we would love to hear from you. In addition, if you find material on our website that appears to be in conflict with principles of Indigenous Data Sovereignty, please contact us at: lhearchives@uts.edu.au
